PARK CITY, Utah (AP) -- Nutraceutical International Corp.'s fiscal fourth-quarter net income slipped 6 percent, partly pulled down by higher expenses.
The company, which makes nutritional supplements, reported Monday that it earned $3.3 million, or 32 cents per share, for the three months ended Sept. 30. That's down from net income of $3.5 million, or 34 cents per share, a year ago.
Revenue climbed 7 percent to $45.8 million from $42.8 million, buoyed by acquisitions and its existing customer base.
Selling, general and administrative expenses rose to $16.9 million from $15.9 million, and cost of sales rose to $23.4 million from $20.8 million.
For the year, Nutraceutical earned $15.7 million, or $1.51 per share, compared with earnings of $16.4 million, or $1.56 per share, in the previous year.
Annual revenue increased 4 percent to $188.1 million from $180.1 million.
