NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Shares of the following companies were among those making notable moves in Friday’s U.S. stock market:
Advancers
First Solar Inc. (XNAS:FSLR - News) shares jumped 9.8% on news
FreightCar America Inc. (XNAS:RAIL - News) shares gained 25% after the freight-car maker and repair group reported a fourth-quarter profit that beat market expectations.
SunPower Corp. (XNAS:SPWR - News) shares rose 22% after the provider of solar-energy technology late Thursday reported an unexpected fourth-quarter profit.
Web.com Group Inc. (XNAS:WWWW - News) shares climbed 5.5% a day after the builder of small-business websites reported fourth-quarter earnings that beat expectations.
Decliners
Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. (XNAS:MDRX - News) shares fell 7.4% a day after the provider of health-care technology services delivered a disappointing full-year profit forecast.
Gilead Sciences Inc. (XNAS:GILD - News) shares lost 15% after reporting disappointing test results related to a hepatitis C treatment.
